Important information that you should know about Bonney Lake:
- Bonney Lake has a leash law. Dogs and
cats must be licensed. Licenses must be renewed each January and may be purchased
at The Pierce County Humane Society. Call (253) 383-2733, for more information.
Your license fee will be significantly less if written proof of spay/neuter
is submitted. A penalty is added after March 31, EXCEPT for a 30 day grace
period for new residents and new dogs. Puppies and kittens 6 months or younger
can apply for a juvenile license.

Building permits are required for wood
stove installations and most structures constructed in the city limits. City
forms, planning information, and plat maps are available at City Hall. If
you are in the county, call (253) 591-7148.

The Senior Center is located next to
City Hall. The Senior Center is available for special events and has regular
events, including Bingo. Call (253) 863-7658.

Businesses operating in the city should
apply for a city business license. Licenses are renewed annually in
January.

The Citys Municipal Court Office
can be contacted at (253) 862-6606.

The City is in the permanent burn ban
area established by Puget Sound Air Pollution Control. For more information
call the Fire Department at (253) 863-1800.

The city has 2 public parks. Lake Bonney
Park located at 18200 - 74th, with picnic tables and playground equipment,
and Allan Yorke Park located at West Tapps and Bonney Lake Blvd. There is
a fee to use the public boat launch at Allan Yorke Park which may be paid
at either City Hall or the Police Department during business hours. Daily
passes are available at the park. The park has a swimming area, playgrounds,
ball fields, and picnic tables. Ballfield scheduling is done by the Park
Board at (253) 863-1987. There are private baseball and soccer associations
which can be contacted at (253) 863-0333.

Bonney Lake has combined with the City
of Sumner and Sumner School District to fund a Parks and Recreation Program.

registration.

Lake Tapps is owned by Puget Power and
they schedule the filling and draining each spring and fall.

City Water is supplied by natural springs
and wells. Chlorine is added, but no fluoride. Samples are taken weekly
throughout the system to guarantee water quality. If you have questions or
utility emergencies on evenings or weekends, call Police Department (253)
862-2218.

City Utility bills can be paid at the City
Hall night drop or by mail to P.O. Box 7380. For rate schedule, leak, and
conservation information, contact City Hall. Citizens 62 years and older
may receive a low-income senior discount on the water bill, if they qualify
for a discount on their Pierce County property taxes.
